Truck crashes on NY highway, spills tons of yogurt

CHENANGO, N.Y. (AP) ? A tractor-trailer crash in upstate New York has sent 18 tons of Greek yogurt spilling alongside a highway.
WBNG-TV reports (http://bit.ly/Jsknkj ) that a truck hauling 36,000 pounds of Chobani yogurt was traveling west on Interstate 88 when it crashed on a curve and overturned late Monday night in the Broome County town of Chenango, just north of Binghamton.
The station reports that the yogurt spilled on the highway’s shoulder and down a hillside. The sheriff’s office says crews are still cleaning up the crash scene Tuesday morning.
The 24-year-old Nebraska man who was driving the truck wasn’t seriously injured. He was ticketed for failure to reduce speed and improper lane use.
The westbound lanes of I-88 were closed for a time after the crash.

Lindsay Lohan’s ‘Glee’ Cameo: Co-Star Perez Hilton Weighs In!

Celebrity-gossip blogger skirts addressing Lohan’s alleged unprofessionalism while shooting this week’s ‘Nationals’ episode.

Celebrity-gossip blogger Perez Hilton guest stars on this week’s big “Nationals” episode of “Glee,” but was uncharacteristically reluctant to address the rumors of fellow guest star Lindsay Lohan’s alleged on-set misbehavior when MTV News caught up with him at Wango Tango in Los Angeles this weekend.
“I’m on ‘Nationals,’ a very important episode, and Lindsay Lohan is also on this episode,” Hilton told MTV News. “And it’s a nail-biter. Everybody has to watch.”
When the conversation turned to allegations that Lohan was hours late to set and was difficult once she finally arrived, Hilton chose his words very carefully, turning the conversation back to himself — and in so doing, seemed to imply that Lohan was not at her professional best.
Asked about talk of Lohan’s misbehavior, Hilton said, “I showed up to set early and prepared and was very happy to be there and professional, excited and appreciative for the opportunity.”
Rumors of on-set trouble erupted April 25, when actress Dot-Marie Jones, who plays Coach Beiste on the Fox hit, tweeted about an unnamed person’s late arrival to set, causing delays in filming. “Gonna be a long day!! Some ppl show up late and just throw a wrench in things,” Jones reportedly tweeted. “Not cool! I’d rather be an hour early (I was) than 5 minutes late!” Jones’ tweet has since been deleted.
Regarding Lohan’s alleged tardiness, the actress’ rep, Steve Honig, told E! News that there was a mixup with her call time, and said any claims of problems on the “Glee” set are “utter B.S.”
“This is a classic example of people trying to bash Lindsay. She busted her ass yesterday and is back on set again today,” he continued.
Like Hilton, Lohan appears as herself on the episode. The pair play judges at the national singing competition the show’s choir, New Directions, participates in.

Apple renames iPad Wi-Fi + 4G to less controversial iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular

Apple.com no longer shows a product called iPad Wi-Fi + 4G, and has instead renamed it to the the less controversial iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular. The problem with the term 4G is that U.S. carriers have utterly abused it and robbed it of any consumer-helpful meaning.

Howard Stern held court at New York’s Friars Club on Thursday in a long-running press conference to promote his upcoming stint as a judge on “America’s Got Talent.” And in keeping with the spirit of the legendary roasts that take place at the venue, he didn’t shy away from taking some shots at his singing-competition contemporaries.
Stern was asked by a reporter whether he would have signed up for the “Talent” gig if it meant serving on a panel with “American Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez and newly-announced “X Factor” judge Britney Spears — as opposed to the “Talent” tandem of Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne — and, well, let’s just say he answered rather directly.
“No, I would not [have], because I think we have the best judging panel out there, out of all these shows. I think that the judges all offer constructive, precise criticism, and I really like it,” Stern said. “To sit there with J.Lo and Britney Spears and try to prop those two up, I’d be like a ventriloquist with two dummies; I’m not going to sit there and do that.”
Stern didn’t stop there, either. When he was asked for his thoughts on “The X Factor” ‘s reported $15 million deal with Spears, the shock jock joked that he was in favor of it … for slightly dubious reasons, of course.
“I think it’s a wonderful decision; Britney still thinks the world is flat. We’re going to tune in to see if she can sort of function through the thing. As far as any real criticism, I think ["X Factor" judges] Simon [Cowell] and L.A. Reid will be doing that,” he said. “I think Britney’s going to stand there and eat a lollipop and wear a sexy outfit; I don’t anticipate great opinions from her. I think she’s going to sit there like J.Lo. ‘Oh, you’re wonderful, you’re terrific. You think I could get a perfume endorsement out of this? You think I can perform on the show?’ I think that’s what it’s about, but I think it will be interesting. … I’ll tune in to see what kind of train wreck she is, absolutely.”
